A Hot Box Full of Egoisme!

Ok. Hi!

I'm a teensy bit late getting this post out because I became addicted to listening to podcasts at night because I love being read to. Then I accidentally ran over my data plan in about two minutes flat and flipped out at 3 am because I didn't know what that would cost me for listening to an hour of this hilarious woman talking about scamming theatres and cruise lines on my iPhone.

So I took the time today to pay homage to Egoisme and the fabuloooous Ramses Meredith (also a shout out to Alon Alphaville whose endless search to hear me DJ is very touching) with this neat item I bought called the Hot Box from PNP Poses.  I thought it was appropriate. Also, you get to see me as a man, which is always fun, I think.

I was pretty excited when these first two ensembles came through the Egoisme blogging pipeline.  They are from the pret a porter line at Egoisme. This one is called "Man in Black" and features an open-collared black shirt with rolled sleeves, light enough for the upcoming spring and summer nights.  I am a huge fan of being unisexy and the tartan pants that came with the shirt I shall also be sporting as a lady as well.  If you want to sport your Egoisme love, it comes with a great belt with the store logo. I shall be sporting it in the next photo!  Oh and yes that is the new Byron skin and shape which you will also see later in the post.

This is the other newly released item in the pret a porter line, "Exotic Dream." I was just looking through my inventory for an outfit called "Erotic Dream." ::cough:: So anyhoo...this set is a see-through tank top (no imagination to see the nips needed here, ladies and gents!) and slick leather pants a slight caramel design.  These are so detailed that I didn't put that shine on there.  I don't even know how to do that mmkay?  Ramses made my job easier and put that shine on the pants.  It's fine. He's a genius. Whatever. gobuyit What? Okay on to the skins!

This is the Byron skin and shape.  It was easy for me to remember because I have an uncle named Byron but he doesn't look like this and he's Mormon. No offense to the Mormons. I'm just not Mormon. Anyway.
I'm going to list what samplings I took from the big giant fat pack Ramses sent to me because otherwise I wouldn't have time to do anything else. Ever.

This lovely sampling is: Evian Byron Pale Torso A Hair Happy Trails

Evian Byron Medium Torso A Hair Body Hair

Let me explain my concept here.  This is: Evian Byron Tan Torso B Hair with Beard A and Wolverine
I realize it looks like Byron has been baking.  But what I have chosen to do is display some tattoo beard options that are tintable on the Tan skin so you can see better what I'm talking about.  The Wolverine option is something I was really excited to see, not just because I'm a Wolverine nerd but because I think facial hair options are fairly limited and not creative for the most part.  This is not the case here.  You could easily just throw on most of the beard options and still look awesome.  Trust me, I tried it.

Here is the same skin and tone but with the VividTone tattoo layer added.  This is a very cool feature because it allows you to buy a skin and then set the tone to what you want while keeping the details intact.

The Hot Box I used in the above photos is from PNP Poses.

This is also the same skin and in the same tone. It's a rare candid shot of a model after a shoot. Models are messy and they eat fast.  Actually, this is a lie. Models eat invisible food.  This is just a messy gravy tattoo I found in my inventory I have been dying to use in my blog forever. I don't even know who made it.

Take That, Metaverse! It's Mesh!

I was going to a casting today that had to do with mesh and recalled that a couple of weeks ago I went on a mesh rampage during a blizzard.  I found some nice springy pieces I had apparently bought with the help of a gift card.  Today I was ecstatic because I found the 500L gift card in my inventory but when I went to buy another color of a dress I already had, being a forgetful little piggy, I was slapped by the metaverse which said to me in a deep and booming voice, "Tut! Tut! You have 35L left on this card!"  Not liking to be caught in my forgetful piggy form, I instantly chucked the gift card at the metaverse and sliced it in the meta eyeball.  Which will be causing lag for at least a week. I apologize.

I did style this up for you, though! (And for me because I'm a little piggy)

By the way, once I uploaded this, I noticed I look like one of those people they make fun of on Flickr. Or dangerously close. I promise this is not the case.  It's just the angle of the photo. That chair is not bigger than my waist.  I might be drooling milk IRL but that's just part of the makeup I was wearing. I assure you my photography has vastly improved lately but I'm now getting used to the Firestorm update.  So get off my back (in the nicest possible way.) Also there's balloons because it's my RL Mom's birthday today. AKA: The First Day of Spring. Which, of course, means we are getting snow. Happy Birthday, Momster!

Style Card:

Skin: (Closeup with added makeup below)  *ES* Silver Screen Rita Noir 2.0
You can find this skin and a few others from Evangeline Schism on Marketplace for 15L

Hair: >TRUTH< Miku 2 - silver

Makeup: [HANDverk] Enu Face Paint [FULL] (Free gift!!)

Clutch: Finesmith: Womenstuff Hunt Gift (It's packed with goodies, it's mesh and it was still at the store last I looked!)

This is a raw shot of the skin and makeup in the "midday setting" at the Humanoid sim.  The skin actually is Noir so it's good for black and white shots.  The makeup is listed above and includes the orange eye coloring and white chin coloring. They also include it in separates.

Peace out, Girl Scout!

Do You Have a Lisp for Spring?

No? Well hop on down to Lisp and touch their subscriber to get the lovely Granny's Knitting Circle gift they just sent out! It's adorable and very calming!  It comes with orange soda, a book and knitting projects as props and a trunk with a book, glasses, tea, flowers and a yarn ball on the ground.  Don't forget the floral lawn chairs that my grandma would have loved to sit in and tell some yarns. See what I did there? Boom tish!

Mesh With My Eyes!!!

When I found out Blue Hoisan of The Attic Skins & Shapes made mesh eyes (YES, MESH EYES) I ran right over to see like there was some sort of accident involving a carnie at a trainyard!  Don't judge. Anyhoo, The Attic also happens to be part of Goose and Gander Fridays this week and guess what she has out for 60L for JUST TODAY? That's right. Mesh Eyeballs.  They're good for the goose and the gander which is basically what the group is all about.  Speaking of which, here's a gander at the eyes!

What's even more exciting is that if you can work a shoe hud, you can work these eyes!  I can actually work these eyes better than I can work a shoe hud.  Which explains all the shoe hud shaped holes in my wall.

They come with a resizing and color picking hud.  Blue is working on a true brown color still but otherwise you can toy with your eye color, making them look realistic or fantasy.  They are not rigged mesh so you can adjust them manually as well.  Included are two alphas. One for your head so it disappears while adjusting and one for your eyes that are not mesh once you have adjusted your new fancy pants eyes!

Now. One. Other. Thing.  These are the Friday Mesh Eyes.  That means they are EXCLUSIVE and only 60L for today.  I plan on purchasing the other ones as well but why not get a bargain when you can!

Mesh. Eyes. Fabulous.

IM Sweaty Badger if you're interested in becoming part of this lovely group.

Most of all, please support the designers who are part of it! Did I say...mesh eyes?!!

Hat's Off (Or Rather, On) To Xen!

It's no secret I love hats.  It's also no secret I love being part of the community.  After my last post Xenobia Foxclaw of Xen's Hats sent me some of the hats she has out at the Fashion for Life event.
I'm not going to drivel on about how sweet Xen is, even though I should. I'll do that in private, thank you.  Following are just some of the hats she has to offer at the Fashion for Life event.  Please go and support the American Cancer Society or if you cannot then educate yourself through their website here and enjoy the photos of the hats!

"I'll Love You in the Springtime" Hatbox

With Me Each Day

Unfortunately, I am not able to head over to the Fashion for Life event to shop due to being low on Lindens.  However, I encourage everyone to do so if they are able. Each bit helps.

Awareness helps even more, though.  I lost my amazing Grandma to Leukemia when I was just two years old but I feel she is with me at each moment of my life.  She was stylish with each move she made and far ahead of her time.  Working for the government in the Yukon during the forties as a single woman was not the norm.  Her photography was breathtaking and I am lucky to have the camera she toted around with her.  I can't say enough about her but I'm sure the people who have touched your lives and do touch your lives would appreciate you thinking of them each day.

This blog post is dedicated to my Grandmother, whom I support with my heart and soul and look to for guidance to this day.

Egoisme: Exclusive Avatar Preview

Ramses Meredith of Egoisme was kind enough to pose for some photos of the exclusive avatar he is releasing on Friday.  These are fairly raw shots because I wanted to show you exactly what was going to be available without altering this Egoisme creation with a flub from photo editing.

Following are some shots of the avatar for those of you who did not get to see it in person at one of the previews today (I heard some people were birthing Meeroos...)

Egoisme will be releasing the avatar with the following items:

*The Alex skin with 15 different and exclusive makeups plus the usual three tones and Vividtones; there is a no eyebrow option included
*The Alex shape (two weeks in the making!)
*Prim teeth

This release is in the androgynous genre: a person who is simply a female or male who has a high degree of both feminine (expressive) and masculine (instrumental) traits. A feminine individual is high on feminine (expressive) traits and low on masculine (instrumental) traits. A masculine individual is high on instrumental traits and low on expressive traits. An undifferentiated person is low on both feminine and masculine traits.

I call it the ultimate "unisexy."

Oh. By the way.  This release will only be available for a limited time, starting Friday, so snatch it up while you can.  Here's some more eye candy for you:

And...one last look!  Let's see how you style it!  Thanks to Ramses Meredith for being patient and kind.

Mens.Select Event

Hey there!  Fresh of the presses of the Sweaty Badger are the Man of the House Goggles! Created for the new store and for the Mens.Select Event, these mesh goggles with weathered wood texture and shading can be styled anyway you want. Even the ladies can pull them off!

Soupy's Showcase of Shoes!

Since I'm a shoe hoarder or "collector" by nature, I'm not sure why I don't have more shoes in my Second Life.  This is something I have decided to work on. Hey, a gal has to have a goal, right?  I traded it for my goal of learning to drive in a non-destructive way in SL.   Here's a few pairs of shoes I have picked up in the last couple of days.  I found some more but I have to do some burlesque later at Blue Moon's Cabaret (psst...show's at 2:30 every Saturday) and haven't more time to stand around taking photos of my av's feet...as much as I adore doing so.

The Maja Clog from Loordes of London is this week's offering for le ladies in the second cycle of Goose and Gander Fridays.  Even though it's Saturday now, I'm pretty sure you can still get them.  Coleen Macarthur makes lovely and creative shoes that reflect her sharp wit and kindness.  She also enjoys eating lunch which is one of my favorite meals along with dinner and, on Saturdays, breakfast. I would pretty much eat these shoes if I could.

Oh hey! What's this? More Loordes of London?!  Tss...we don't leave the men out at Goose and Gander Fridays!  In fact, it's a requirement not to! Loordes of London offers los hombres and those who enjoy being unisexy (such as myself) the Fulham Riding Boots in dark mauve.  I couldn't quite capture how the lace holes, for lack of a better term, glint when you walk. Believe me they do.  Not to be mistaken for the ghastly bling! No! They just glint like Cary Grant's smile.

Now and again, I cannot resist going to Grim Bros. for some fancy and dandy shoes that don't break the bank.  I'm usually there for about an hour but not for a spree.  I wish!  That would take a whole day!  There's so much detail to these, the Dahlia Heels Satin in bleu, but they are one of the simpler pairs available.  Sure, I want the Steampunk prosthetic with a matching spare shoe but maybe another day.  I could go on and on about Grim Bros. but I'll let you do some exploring.  I would eat these shoes, too but it might be the equivalent of when I was a kid and shoved some tiny clocks up my nose.  Just kidding! *cough*

Well look at that...the boardwalk ate my favorite sandal ever!  Good job, photographer!  Um, yeah. Anyhoodle, these are not my favorite sandals because they were FREE on marketplace and come with prim toes, optional bangles and toe rings. No, sir! They are my favorite because they are so adorable and, as kismet would have it, match the rainbow swimsuit outfit from my previous post! Here it is on Marketplace!  The shoe listing...that is.  No, don't you eat my feet!  So gross but I can understand because they make your toes look like candy!

Alrighty...myself and my N key are out.  It's lunchtime dontcha' know?

Goose and Gander Friday & Egoisme Gift

It's the second week of Goose and Gander Fridays and there's some great stuff out!  I couldn't show off everything at once because I'm really hungry and I get to have delish chicken and biscuits (with sour cream in the biscuits!)  Make sure to make the rounds this Friday (some will still be available Saturday as well.)  I'm saving the riding boots from Loordes of London, the male gift for GGF, for my shoe fetish post later on!

However!  Here's what we've got!

Skybox: h.o.e. inc. [houseofenvy] The Victorian Skybox (GGF)
Hair:  [e] Again - Black 04 (not part of GGF)
Skin: Egoisme VIP gift--see details below!
Jacket: Graffitiwear: Ladies Coffee Leather Jacket (GGF) (A male version is also available)
Necklace: ...:::SCRUB:::.... Shiva Necklace (GGF)
Pants: Armidi: Low Rise Chinos (from the Warehouse Sale)
Top: Pig: The Potato Shirt (for Collabor88)

Join Goose and Gander Fridays to keep updated on the latest lists!  Applications are still open for designers as well!

Egoisme put out this gorgeous skin gift for their VIP's.  It's not the group that costs 300L to join (although I recommend joining since they have such amazing items) but the regular group! Included with the Evian - Ivy Special Edition Egoisme Fashion Friends skin gift is a set of lingerie in both black and white...does Ramses Meredith love Oreos?  I prefer Cakesters.  Anyhoo, the lingerie is beautifully detailed including lace gloves, corset with a sheer back and itty bitty panties that barely cover but add a little bit of DANG! to the set. Skin and lingerie details below...and above.

Whew! Check back tomorrow for my showcase of shoes! :D

Have a fabulous Friday everyone!

Beyond the Sea...Hole!

This scene looks serene and peaceful but this lovely skirt and top was on mega sale at The Sea Hole due to Drinkenstein Sorbet being attacked by lightning in her mini van in RL!  Thus, she has put tons of items on sale for 50L each.  The items are marked by a white mini van being attacked by lightning. Too awesome!  The sale...I mean.  Below, you can see the mini van you are looking for in the store and also Drink's clever humor.

Style Card:
Hat and Sunglasses: Rainbow Wave Swimsuit Outfit: I think this was very, very cheap or free on marketplace but is made by HANDverk (the hat and glasses came with a cute swimsuit and waist wrap)
Hair: booN hairpiece YUME96 gold from booN (Thank goodness for booN and their hat hairpieces!)
Top: The Sea Hole: I'm Knot in Love With You in indigo (See LM to store above)
Skirt: The Sea Hole: Heron Skirt in slate (See LM to store above)
Skin: It's my mostly regular one from Fashionably Dead: Morning Sun-Winter 5

Coming up next: Goose and Gander Friday offerings and footwear!! I just bought some new shoes which I seem oddly short on; I'm going to show you pictures of my stinky avatar feet!

Woo!

Hang On Little Tomato...

Hey everyone!  I have some super awesome posts coming up with hunts, new fashion crushes and all that hoodoo.  However, I am in the middle of redoing my store as well and learning about Gimp!

In the meantime... a recipe to try whilst you are awaiting the next posts!

The Infamous Epironi and Cheese

Ingredients

1 1/2 c sharp cheddar cheese
1 c mayonnaise
1 c sour cream
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 lg loaf of bread, crusty on the ouside, chewy on the inside
1 c melted butter
1 pkg macaroni, large shells

Directions

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.  Start the pasta boiling (do not rinse when done)
Set aside.
3.  In a large bowl, combine mayo, sour cream and soup.
4.  In a separate bowl, chunk up the bread into bite-sized pieces and toss with the melted butter. Set aside.
5.  Add hot pasta and sharp cheddar to the mayo mixture, stirring well. Spread into a greased casserole dish.
6. Top the macaroni and cheese with the buttered bread cubes.
7. Bake for about an hour or until the middle is bubbly. If the bread starts to get too golden before it's done baking, tent with foil.
8. Serve and enjoy! There will be plenty of leftovers, which is the best part!

Soupy's [dirty.little.secret]

First off, I just want to let everyone know I am not freaking out about February 14th this year.  Instead, I'm going to celebrate and embrace Florence Henderson's birthday!  In fact, all month I will be eating chocolate and cutting out leetle hearts and drinking heavily in honor of Florence Henderson, coolest t.v. Mom evar! Of course, there's Mardi Gras, too!  Note: No boob flashing for beads will be tolerated in this blog...until the end of this sentence.

So, the first thing one must do to celebrate Florence Henderson's birthday is don a fancy hat.  I would not say ridiculously fancy because sometimes...well, most times...fancy is ridiculous!  Which is what I love about it.  [dirty.little.secret] is celebrating by participating in a few hunts and having an in-store hunt as well!  Note my chappeau I'm wearing: it's called Valentine's Chappeau and it's available now! With flowers, balloons and yes, sparkling champagne for two, you'll be prepared for February 14th! Other items do not include my dirty truck (I sit in it alone!) but they do happen to include some 10L items such as the chappeau you see me wearing in my truck photo, a Valentine's Waist Cincher, Mardi Gras Waist Cincher, a swing and floral arrangements!  You must get these before March arrives because well, they'll either be sold for more than 10L or disappear altogether, only to exist in your shins as you kick yourself for not getting them.  Remember!  All of these items have everyday uses and can be added to any ensemble to make it more fancy!  Say it with me. FANCY. Or couture or whatev. You say couture; I say fancy.

Oh hey! I broke into my friend Crystal's lovely home to give you a flash of [dirty.little.secret]'s hunt items.  See that horn I'm wearing? Well there's another part to it! This is the part with the dangly bit to it, though.  That's a heart on it!  You can get this as part of the Brutal Love Hunt. Oh, my scarf? Well. It's cozy enough to hold in the night breeze as you huddle outside of a 7-11 on February 14 checking the pay phones for magical Florence Henderson change!  To buy a burrito with.  It also is adorned with a lovely flower which I think smells fabulous.  It's a Be Loved Hunt gift!

On my way out of Crystal's house, I found all this "root beer" laying around and well, yes, I'm doing a backwards flip off her couch. Just before I crushed my head, though, I managed to snap this pic!  I'm sporting one of many Mardi Gras masks from [dirty.little.secret] and some awesome beads I didn't have to flash anyone for!  Score! As you can see, I have added a cape to the ensemble from Milk Motion (a former FLF offering) to make myself Souper Mardi Gras Chick! Again, I tell you, you can use all of these things year round if you're fancy enough.

So run, don't walk (or just teleport like I do) to [dirty.little.secret] and pick up your February items!

P to the S: The lovely person who owns the sim [dirty.little.secret] is on is a very giving person and has allowed Tash Porthos to have her store there at no charge.  Right now, proceeds from the store are being donated to the sim owner as they are having financial issues IRL. Be sure to tip the store and sim because it's a nice place and we should keep nice people around.  Contact Tash Porthos inworld if you have questions about helping the sim stay.

Also check out my new Kit Kat Clock widget! It shows what time it is where I am! Fancy!

Florence Henderson would be so happy.

Getting the Vintage On With Tres Beau

Sometimes I have this crazy dream where all of my teeth are falling out. As in, more teeth than 30 people combined could possibly have.  I know I'm stressing when I have this dream so I decided to kick back, finish my copy of "The Help" (which is amazing, especially for a first novel) and go for some retail therapy on Second Life.   Upon logging in, I saw Tres Beau was having a half-off sale at their mainstore!  I've had my eyeballs on a few ensembles in the retro/vintage section so after the lag died down, I hopped on over to snag what I have been coveting.  With my large tuxedo cat, Charles, warming my feet, here are some snaps of what is finally mine, all mine!

This piece from Tres Beau Designs by Kimmera Madison is called "Mahogany": Russett.  This is a closer deail of the finely detailed jacket with golden stiched trim and very fine buttons indeed just under the tucked in aviator's scarf.  Topping it all off is fedora with, yes, a feather.  I stopped by the Cod Supper Club to have a little stroll around in this piece.

Here is a fuller detail of the "Mahogany": Russett. As you can see, the slacks are gorgeously tailored to move with you when you walk and yet are very trim.  Kimmera has even included matching boots with just a slight heel so you don't trip over your cod supper.  And yes, they match, unlike my normal shoes.  Hats off to Tres Beau for saving me from another fashion faux pas. On second thought, I'll keep this hat on, thanks.

This is "Chaplin."  Not only is that the outfit's moniker but it's clearly designed as an homage to my favorite comedian and personal hero.  These happen to be the most detailed and finely designed high waist pants I have ever seen in SL.  The belt cinches at the waist and the top of the pants just sort of "floof" up in a very Tramp-esque fashion, attaching the delicious suspenders discreetly.  The bodice is a rosy color and the back detail has black netting connected to the bow tie and collar.  It's finished with flared driving gloves and a gauzy bubble scarf.  I believe this is a suitable (har har) tribute to the Little Tramp.

This is my artsy fartsy detail of me as The Tramp, having a nice stroll through the English countryside.

Zis is the "Hepburn" by Tres Beau Designs!  I'm going to take a guess that it's Katharine and not Audrey.  Both are personal heroes but Katharine more so because she carried off wearing pants and being classy in an era where it was still a bit taboo to do so.  This shot gives you a close glance at the swanky button down with just a peep of black bra (ooh la la!) tucked into high waist sorrel pants with flared pockets.  Again, a mahvalous tied belt made of crimson ruttan and delicate detailing on the tie so that it even glints in the sun.

Oh, did you think you were getting away without a bowler hat? Nope. In fact, I think this hat might do well with the "Chaplin" as well! What a topper!

The Penitent Hunt! Coming Soon!

Waiting for the Hunt Train

I love doing hunts but I'm pretty picky about which ones I do.  There are a few coming up I'm excited about and one of them is The Penitent Hunt, put on by Tash Porthos of [dirty.little.secret]

The theme sounds religious but can be interpreted many ways.

For you Catholics in the know (and others who just ... know, for whatever reason) this hunt starts on Ash Wednesday, the day of penitence after the decadence and build up of the holiday/Carnivale/Mardi Gras season when observant Catholics go to Mass to receive a cross of ash to wear on their foreheads for the day. This hunt is about the 40 days of the Lenten season after Fat Tuesday, ending on Easter Sunday.

I'm more spiritual than "religious," per se but I love the many themes creators have the potential of pulling out of this.  Some of the buzz words for the hunt include: lent, catholic, penitence, penitent, communion, confession, regret, guilt, redemption, renewal, denial, sacrifice, secret indulgences, resolutions.  Ironically, a bit like the standard Christian holidays we endure and then go through New Year's with resolutions, whether we keep them, break them or don't make any at all.

Tash would like to make it clear that, "This is not a religious hunt nor is it a persecution of the Catholic Faith. This hunt merely takes its theme from the long-standing traditions of the Lenten season. No judgement or persecution, religious or otherwise, will be tolerated in this hunt nor will any persecution be tolerated of this hunt."

Look for my posts while I do the hunt!

Yip's Tower of Goodies

It has been snowing like crazy where I live!  There are literally drifts almost seven feet high and more is on the way.  So, I rummaged through my SL closet and found a piece from a creator in SL I dearly love for her imagination and generosity.  To shake the snow off my boots and lounge in digital luxury as I watch the snow fall out my window, I donned YIPs Baby Snow Tiger.

Four Yip has been creating in SL for quite a long time.  She also makes some of the coolest things I have seen in SL.  Most of her ensembles come with out-of-this-world accessories and poses and props.

In this, my first post, I decided to show just one of the many items she has for free (click her name at the top of the post to teleport over) in her windmill tower.
YIPs Baby Snow Tiger is comprised mostly of accessories but has a simple and cute leotard with it.  I colored it aqua to make it more visible against the white of the ...bear necessities.

Despite the tiger name, the outfit includes a bear headpiece, paw gloves (rawrrr) and a sinuous fur attachment that winds down the leg and tickles your foot...or any foot near you.

I've added "Short Hair with Bangs" from my inventory library, made by Truth Hawks.  It was colored white but I tinted it aqua to match the leotard and define the accessories more.

The best thing about the items Yip creates is that you can easily incorporate them into other outfits, giving them a touch of the whimsical and unusual that can sometimes be hard to find. From haute couture intended even for runway use to costumes to accessories to everyday outfits, each item Yip Four creates can be adapted with panache.  She even has a suitcase of furniture in the windmill (I haven't unpacked it all but I'm sure to be delighted.)

You can count on seeing bits and pieces of her creations in my future posts!

Stylecard:
YIPs Baby Snow Tiger (link above to her windmill of goodies)
Skin: Mother Goose : Yvonne Freckle (available for 1L)
Hair: Short Hair with Bangs (white), tinted aqua (it's in your inventory!)
Shape: Rozena: Renee (BLOTP Hunt prize from long ago but it's my regular shape)
